FAQ for Kimchi Mobile Service Users (Korea Starter SIM KT)
If your data is not working after adding the eSIM, check these settings:
- Turn off Wi-Fi
- Turn on Cellular Mode
- Enable Data Roaming
- Set the added eSIM as Primary and turn off other SIM or eSIM settings (you can use other SIM cards together after activation)
*Avoid Data Switch mode as it may use data from a Secondary eSIM
**If problems persist, toggle Airplane Mode on and off 2-3 times or restart your device
If issues continue, try manually configuring the APN settings as described in FAQ no 21.
1. What's the quickest way to get connected when I land in Korea?
Answer:
Your 60 GB Data-only eSIM QR code is issued immediately after purchase.
- Install the QR before your flight (it won't activate yet).
- The 60-day countdown starts the moment your phone first connects to a Korean network—typically as soon as the plane doors open.
- Turn on roaming/mobile data and you're online within seconds.
2. Why choose a 60-day Data eSIM instead of a prepaid SIM with a phone number?
